If you have a real passion for IT this is an excellent opportunity to develop your existing personal and IT skills, working as part of a small friendly team, providing Managed IT Services to clients throughout the Thames Valley.

You will be responsible for taking and logging issues by phone, web and email and will be tasked with resolving these issues to the satisfaction of the customer, or escalating it to 2nd line support and tracking the issue till it is resolved, using state of the art IT Management software.

You will provide proactive hardware, software and peripheral maintenance in addition to building, installing, configuring and supporting workstations, laptops and other associated devices and peripherals.

To be considered for this position, you must have at a minimum, 5 GCSEs at grade A-C, including Maths and English. You must also have customer service experience and be fully IT literate. Ideally you will have achieved one or more formal IT qualifications and be able to demonstrate your enthusiasm for technology and a clear understanding of current IT systems, although our client may consider training a person with a real enthusiasm for IT.

The position requires a high degree of interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues is essential.

You must be analytical with good problem solving skills and have the ability to benefit from both formal, and on the job training. Subject to a successful three month probationary period you will be considered for further training on external courses, appropriate to the requirements of the company and the further development of you own particular skills, and which will lead to further formal industry qualifications.

Our client, a long standing, family run, retail flooring business, is seeking a sales assistant to join their busy showroom based in Brentwood.

This role does not require experience as full training will be provided, however any experience in the flooring retail industry would be advantageous.

It is vital that this person has a strong work ethic, is hard working, punctual, enthusiastic, and proactive in order to help other staff members and get involved in all elements of the business.

Salary: £18,000 - £20,000
Hours of work: 8:00am - 5:00pm

This role requires an individual who can commit to working Saturdays with a day off in the week.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

• Assisting new and existing customers who visit the showroom
• Ordering materials
• Organising delivery for customer orders
• Deal with goods in, for installation
• Assist installers
• Ensuring a high level of customer service at all times
• Taking telephone enquiries and arranging the fitters for home visits
• Please note this role will involve some heavy lifting
• Support customers in their selection, providing honest and friendly advice
• Pricing up work

Eventually you will be trained into carrying out home consultation appointments, measuring customers rooms and providing on site quotations, in this multifunctional role.
