Moved to Hertfordshire to work with HCL on Dixon & Car phone-Warehouse project, busy designing a new network to accommodate over 40,000 users from so many different DC located in UK, India & Brno. The same time we have to look after the network and train the new engineers to this new network. It is all rush. The hardware ranges from 2950’s to all the way the 6500 and nexus 3000 with fabrication, Nexus 5000 for core. Routers from 2800 right up to 5800’s. The Firewalls is a mixture of ASA5500 range and checkpoints. As it is evolving it is existing time to watch, how it matures.

My contract was to help to re-designing the new network and configure the new machines as they are allocated to different area of council with 22000 users.The meant I had to study the network thoroughly to be a active member. This included learning the new lync voice server as well. Then we had to plan to renew the network with new design and technology. This mostly happened after the new year.This will include Lync communication, new routers, switches, firewalls & 5500 WLCs. There were a lot of heat calls and network trouble shooting and monitoring. Cisco prime played a good role for monitoring the network.
