Operations Manager – Job Description
An operations manager ensures a business runs as smoothly as possible from day to day.
Their work revolves around recognising and implementing methods to boost efficiency and productivity and duties include responsibility for a company’s logistics, employee supervision, preparing budgets, improving working environments and reviewing client and customer relationships/satisfaction.
A good operations manager creates an environment where teamwork, creativity and energy are valued and nurtured, so excellent communication, decision-making and leadership skills are a must.
Because the job is so wide-ranging, a strong knowledge of the entire business and the ability to multi-task are key attributes, as is experience in operational management and the use of sector-specific computer applications.
A degree in operational management or another business-related area is a must, and experience in a similar operational management role is also vital.
